Primroses
After the landscaping, the backyard was all dormant rose bushes and grass -- a bland palate.
Sandi & I bought flats of sturdy English primroses & viola and Bob planted most of them in the borders.
After a recent open house, we could tell from the footprints that visitors walked along the length of the border, admiring.
The primroses have taken all the cold weather California can dish out --
(snow in Malibu canyon -- could anything be stranger?)
I borrowed the primrose picture from Gurneys.
